- While Leaf has long relied on prospect-based sets, 2021 Leaf Memories College Football is the first standard release from Leaf to incorporate current college players via the NCAA's NIL (name, image and likeness) rules.
- Featuring a few different throwback designs, the set displays XRC (extended rookie card) logos for the 2021 draftees and ARC (amateur rookie card) logos for the college players.
